BSF Coaching Scholarship Program
I believe that every EdD/PhD student can benefit from learning to self-coach to support their educational experience.
Although it is common for students to hire a dissertation coach near the end of their journey to provide technical assistance, it is not yet common for students to seek life coaching for empowerment earlier in the journey.
The BSF Coaching Scholarship was created to introduce students to self-coaching to support their doctoral journey.

Benefits of self-coaching
The type of life coaching I provide is causal coaching. That means we focus on finding the cause of discomfort to eliminate it instead of treating symptoms. We can also find your source of empowerment that creates the experiences you want in life.
Some of the outcomes students can experience from self-coaching are:
- reduce overwhelm
- release self-judgment that keeps you in self-doubt
- rebuild school-life balance to bring peace of mind
- increase productivity by putting an end to procrastination
- stop the unnecessary emotional pain of survival-mode thinking
- rescue relationships to feel deeply supported on the doctoral journey
Self-Coaching Basics
The Self-Coaching Basics package is a 4-week program that introduces you to a self-coaching practice you can use to quickly go from overwhelmed to productive. Many students make a shift in the first week!
Each week we cover basic coaching concepts that create awareness about where you are stuck and how you can move forward with less stress, self-doubt, and overwhelm. Increase your confidence, motivation, and productivity within the program. In the last session, we complete a goal-setting process to ensure you have a viable plan to reach your biggest goal.
Curriculum:
- Week 1: Introduction to life coaching
- Week 2: Self-coaching basics using The Model
- Week 3: Identifying beliefs and processing emotions
- Week 4: The process to attain any goal
